Teachers interested in learning Suzuki Piano and Piano Basics Technique can study at the studio of Leah Brammer in Portola Valley, California. Study includes SAA Teacher Training, Friday morning Teacher research group, private lessons, observation of lessons, and support for starting a studio.

Suzuki Association of the Americas Every Child Can!
About the Class: This one day class is an introduction to the Suzuki philosophy and it’s application to education. It is a wonderful class for parents to learn about Suzuki Method, and is also the Suzuki Association of the America’s first course in their teacher development program.

Schedule: 10:00 AM-5:00 PM with a one hour lunch break 12:00 PM-1:00 PM

About the class: This class will cover the objectives of the Suzuki Book 3 repertoire. It will include musical, technical, and pedagogical study, as well as discussion on reading, group and performance opportunities to support the developing pianist. It is the goal of the class to give teachers the information and tools to teach Suzuki Book 3 and to create a community of teachers that can research together. There are 5 classes of 15 hours each. Since this is a small group class, teachers should be prepared to play the Unit 3 repertoire at every class. Eight hours of observation of studio lessons are also part of the class. Written observations and discussion of these lessons are part of the class. Therefore the observations need to completed by February 15 which is the last class. A schedule of the student lessons for observation will be given out at the first class. Information on the prerequisites for this class is on the Suzuki Association of the Americas website.
Dates: Friday Mornings in the studio on January 18, January 25, February 1, February 8, February 15. Observation of lessons is scheduled separately.

Fee: $500.00 due at the first class
Registration: $50.00 due by December 15, 2018.

Video lessons – Submit a video of your student performing and receive a video lesson in response.
Graduation Evaluation Lessons: Submit student’s graduation videos for evaluation with a video response to prepare for their graduation concert.
Online Real time Lessons – This option utilizes Skype or similar service to provide lessons long distance, and is useful for teachers and their students who are already studying.
A limited number of weekends are available for training teachers and students out of the San Francisco bay area in your studio. Openings are also sometimes available in other teachers’ studios that are having weekend workshops.
