About Leah Brammer
Leah Brammer is a pianist, a teacher, a writer, and a mentor. She is a catalyst for parents and educators to focus on developing children’s core abilities through music study.
She holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in music education, piano performance, and piano pedagogy. She studied with Dr. Haruko Kataoka over 20 years at numerous workshops in the United States, as well as study in Japan. She also studied Suzuki method with Merna Thomas and Caroline Fraser, and is a nationally certified Suzuki Association of the Americas Teacher Trainer.
She is a founding member of Atlanta Area Suzuki Piano Association (AASPA) established in 1990. She worked to promote a long-term vision to carry out the mission of Dr. Suzuki’s teachings.
Many of her students have performed with orchestra, in Friendship Concerts, and traveled with her to perform in 10 Piano Concerts in Japan. They have won awards, been accepted to major conservatories for college study, and begun their own careers in music. Video performances of these students are on this website.
She continues to research how to provide an optimum environment for learning. Her writings on Core education, music education, and piano study are on this website.
Leah Brammer is currently teaching students and teachers at her studio in Portola Valley, California. She also teachesĀ at workshops around the United States, combining this with the Core Suzuki Online Teacher Lessons and Graduation Video Evaluation lessons.
